The Blue Lagoon – an Icelandic dream!

We couldn’t wait for our 2 week tour around the whole of Iceland – which was absolutely incredible! But after all of that driving, walking, sight seeing, eating, drinking and marvelling at all of the amazing things we experienced … we were definitely in need of some serious relaxation before our flight home!

And where better than The Blue Lagoon! It is all about unwinding, chilling out, pampering and having a total refresh! And it really didn’t disappoint – even though we had been told it will be busy and that it isn’t as good as some of the hot spring pools you’ll find naturally around the landscape of Iceland. True it was busy but the numbers are controlled and the whole area is so large that a quiet spot isn’t hard to find! We had found natural hot springs on our tour, which were fun, but there is no beating a bit of luxury and a whole load of modern amenities to make this beautiful place a total paradise for a few hours!

There is a bar in the water where you can swim up to and have a cooling smoothie – we did and it was delicious! There is a face mask counter in the water where you can get a pamper – we did and our skin felt so soft and nourished! We had fluffy white bath robes, white fluffy sliders to walk around in, large fluffy white towels in abundance, hot showers, gorgeous body creams and restoring shampoos … we just couldn’t fault it! There is also a restaurant on site but we didn’t eat there – it looked good though!

Iceland is a wonder to behold and there is no end of places to go and jaw dropping sights to see … BUT do set aside a morning or an afternoon to totally switch off and enjoy the beautifully landscaped Blue Lagoon and all that it has to offer! We would absolutely go back in a heart beat!
