Our favourite season Spring has finally sprung … and this is a post of pure indulgence by us for the colour, beauty, wonder of nature and love of completely wild flower fields!
When we are not travelling we are so lucky to have the stunning Sussex area of southern England as our home, our base and our extended garden … as the famous South Downs stretches for miles right from our very doorstep!
And to go out and about at this time of year, as the weather finally warms up, and as everything comes to life all around us in bloom – is pure joy!
This set of wild flower photographs were taken at two different locations. Firstly the lovely manicured gardens that surround the impressive Amberley Castle … and if you are ever near by it is so worth a visit with maybe the addition of tea on the lawn for a quintessentially English afternoon!
The second spot is an unassuming local park to us that has a whole dedicated area to wild flowers of which we are big fans … landscaped gardens are beautiful too but a stretch of mixed flowers growing freely together is our idea of perfection!
How can these small pops of vibrant and/or delicate colour give so much pleasure … the details in every flower, the variations, the perfection, the scent, the sheer beauty – nature really is magnificent!
If only Spring could be all year round, we wouldn’t be complaining!
But for now, while it is here, we will enjoy and admire, marvel and appreciate, love and embrace this most incredible season!
