Seville – such a stunning city!

Seville – such a stunning city!

Seville really is full of colour, beauty, incredible architecture, picturesque places along with delicious food and a friendly atmosphere – what more do you need! And going back for a second time we were a bit apprehensive if it would be as great as we remembered it … but it really was!

There is a warmth not only in the fabulous weather but in the rich sandy coloured stone that the buildings are made from along with the colourful ceramics at Plaza de Espana or the lush greenery everywhere that abounds with oranges and blossoms … always a joy to walk around this compact and interesting city!

Plenty of large open spaces too, gorgeous lush landscaped gardens and parks, beautiful plazas, interesting cobbled streets, distinct areas for traditional dining with the Guadalquivir River running alongside to add more atmosphere especially at night when the bars come alive and the lights dance on the water!

Architecture lovers will be overloaded with the majestic buildings with such intricate details throughout the main walkable centre … arches, bell towers, bridges, churches, The Cathedral, tiles and ceramics and not forgetting a complete contrast of stunning modern design with the fantastic and awe inspiring Metropole Parasol – has to be seen to be believed!

The most beautiful garden (in our humble opinion) is within the walls of the magnificent Moorish palace Real Alcazar … you will inevitably have to queue and then pay to get in but it is well worth a visit … and because it is sprawling the crowds do get lost in the far flung corners of this wonderful building, grounds and green luscious space!

Also take a look at our post dedicated to the jaw dropping Metropole Parasol that is shoe horned into a very traditional square and made of wood which is fascinating, click HERE !

All in all Seville is a brilliant city break and we are sure to go again as loved it’s vibrancy and feel good atmosphere, top notch Tapas and endless beauty!
