We visited Taormina last year for the first time and fell in love with it … usually we don’t return to places we’ve recently been to – maybe years later, as there are so many other places still to see and experience on our never ending wish list of travel – but Taormina really did connect with us, so much so that this summer we returned to discover more! We weren’t disappointed as it is so full of beauty, atmosphere, culture and life! The biggest change was that this time we had a drone with us …
This meant that we got to see a bird’s eye view over the amazing amphitheatre that sits right in town overlooking it – along with spectacular views of the coastline running on both sides. Mount Etna, as ever, sat dramatically off in the distance and this year it was smoking which added to the intrigue and awe of this looming, active volcano! We also had the most extraordinary sunsets whilst there which just elevated this picturesque town still further in the glowing, golden light!

Did you enjoy that small taste of Sicily ?
