Iceland is nothing short of spectacular at any time of year! But if you want to experience the island covered in never ending fields of beautiful Lupins then JUNE is the month to visit … and we highly recommend it!
As you might have gathered from our other travels we are fair weather people so going to Iceland in Spring really appealed to us! We do have to add here that we were incredibly lucky with gorgeous hot weather which isn’t guaranteed and not always the case – as their Spring & Summer season is short and unpredictable!
But we struck super lucky and it turned out to be one of our most favourite trips we’ve ever taken! The purple/blue Lupins have such a sweet scent and in the sunshine you could smell them constantly in the air! They grow in total abundance and wildly all over the south half of the island predominately!
We will certainly return to Iceland one day as we loved it and am sure we will experience it during a colder period to see it in all it’s glory of ice and snow … but we will forever treasure the time we spent there over Spring which was magical and a sight to be seen!
