Turks & Caicos – honeymoon heaven!

Turks and Caicos, Caribbean with Seen by Solomon travel blog

We got married in New York so it was easy to choose a wonderful honeymoon get away with the Caribbean being only a 3 to 4 hour flight away! Turks & Caicos of course looked idyllic but it wasn’t until we came across the resort of Amanyara that we knew it was the destination for us! And before we had even arrived, as we flew over the islands, we could already see how beautiful and unforgettable it was going to be!

Turks & Caicos, Caribbean with Seen by Solomon travel blogAman resorts are worldwide and don’t have big signs, names and arrows on the roads indicating on how to find them … they hold very secluded areas with the emphasis on privacy. So when our driver turned off onto a very basic side road – through fields of lush vegetation that we couldn’t see over the top of for miles – we weren’t exactly sure what we were going to find! But as we drew up to the entrance, which was basically a beautiful expanse of pristine white steps and open archways, the managers awaited us with two ice cold cocktails! This welcome set the scene for the whole of our stay, an unmatched experience!

Turks & Caicos, Caribbean with Seen by Solomon travel blogIf you are looking for peace, relaxation, tranquility and impeccable service then this is definitely the place! It was quite a culture shock for us though coming straight out of New York – polar opposite environments in every way, shape and form!! But we soon got into the slower, quieter and zen like pace of our surroundings … how could we not! Everything about this amazing place was luxurious, pristine (literally if a leaf or blossom fell from a tree it was dealt with and gone) along with being incredibly beautiful from the private beach to the infinity pool to our private glass pavilion suit!

Turks & Caicos, Caribbean with Seen by Solomon travel blogAll pavilion suits are situated on private plots looking out over man-made pools of water which looked so natural and were full of wildlife! In fact all of the structures – be it the restaurant, the very cool, round sunken bar, the library & reception were all set on stilts over water – which was very calming by day and very romantic at night! Hundreds of lit candles flickered along all foot paths and from the tables the twinkling flames were reflected and danced on the water … magical!

The sunsets each night out over the infiinity pool were spectacular especially with a cocktail or two and then to have dinner in such a unique and special way was the icing on the cake! We found that everyone that worked there was very joyous of their surroundings and took such pride in their every day – you know it is extraordinary service when everything is perfect and just so, but you hardly ever see who or when they have made it all happen!
