Lordington Lavender fields can be found near Chichester in southern England, UK. It is only open for one week a year when the lavender is at it’s absolute best!
The actual area of lavender can not be seen from the road, during the approach to the farm and/or from the field in which you are directed to park it! All very mysterious and exciting to catch a first glimpse of the gorgeous lavender!!
Once you have paid the £6 entrance fee and after a short walk along and up a slight incline the wonderful clean rows of lavender appear! A delight – even from a distance!
On a warm day such as the one we luckily visited the sweet scent hangs in the air and hundreds of bees are busy at work in and out of the lavender – but no need to fret as they do not bother you if you wander amongst them, up and down the rows of neatly heavenly buds!
And after all the excitement and only when you feel you have had the full lavender field experience do you notice that it isn’t quite time to leave just yet! There is tea & lavender cake to enjoy whilst sitting on a hay bale taking in, not only the lavender again, but also the stunning surrounding countryside! Couldn’t recommend a more beautiful way to spend a sunny Summer’s day morning!
